Mike LaCoss, aka "Buffy"

Mike LaCoss played for the Astros from 1982 to 1984. He was initially drafted by the Reds in 1974 and played with them from '78-81. He also played for the Royals (1985), and the Giants (1986-91).

He was known for his split-finger fast ball. You can see LaCoss here on his '84 Topps card where his arm appears to be melting; I guess he was really throwing some heat that day...
