Denis Menke's first game was April 14, 1962 with the Milwaukee Braves. After six seasons with the Braves he played for the Astros (1968-71), Reds (1972-73), and again for the Astros in 1974.
In 1969 Menke and Jim Wynn hit grand slam home runs in the same inning.
While he was with the Astros he was an All-Star selection two times (1969 and 1970).
He was a hitting coach for the Astros for six seasons.
